Don't think this works with videos (haven't tested it), but it works marvelously with story-focused blogs with images and gifs. The result is a single huge (200mb+, depending on the blog) file.
1. Get Firefox
2. Install this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/single-file/
3. In Bdsmlr's settings page, find this option:
Don't Nest Long Posts
Make sure it is checked on.
4. Open the page of the blog you want to backup, e.g. https://invertedsatyr.bdsmlr.com/
5. Scroll down. Scroll down. Keep scrolling down as new posts continue to appear. After you reach the end of the blog, wait for a bit for all the images to load fully.
6. Click the SingleFile button on your toolbar that was added in step 2. Wait while it works.
7. All done.

#Edit: by the way, there's a magic length for a text in a post, at which bdsmlr just mercilessly cuts of the end without any warning or ability to see it.
If the text is shorter, it fits entirely. If it's longer, bdsmlr shows the "show all" button. But if it's exactly right, it just cuts off a paragraph or three at the end.
I will repeat this twice, otherwise it will be cut off:
